Greenwood-Grenada (MS) Alumni Chapter- 2025 WeAreAchievement Scholarship Application

The Greenwood-Grenada (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The We Are Achievement Scholarships was established to encourage and assist our youth to continue their formal education. The underlying premise for these scholarships is that educational institutions impart knowledge and skills that equip individuals to successfully address society’s problems. The Greenwood-Grenada (MS) Alumni Chapter has an ongoing interest and responsibility in helping our youth achieve their potential.

PURPOSE
The Greenwood-Grenada (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. established the We Are Achievement scholarships to recognize outstanding minority high school seniors pursuing college studies. The program provides scholarships to outstanding students to assist with their first-year college expenses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for a guide right scholarship, a student must meet the following requirements:

• The applicant must have satisfied, or be in the process of satisfying, all requirements for awarding a high school diploma from an accredited Leflore County or Grenada County public school district by the close of the current academic year.
• The applicant shall possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale.
• The applicant must have demonstrated academic excellence as well as outstanding community service through activities, volunteerism, and work experiences.
• The applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
• The applicant must have applied and gained acceptance to an accredited two or four-year college or university for the fall term after their high school graduation.
• The applicant must submit a written application and agree to a personal interview (if required).

SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants will be evaluated on the strength of their academic performance, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, educational aspirations, and personal statement.
