Scholarships

The Greenwood-Grenada (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. “We Are Achievement” Scholarships were established to encourage and assist our youth in continuing their formal education. These scholarships are founded on the belief that education equips individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address society’s challenges. Our chapter maintains an ongoing commitment to helping young people reach their fullest potential.

Purpose
These scholarships recognize outstanding minority high school seniors from Leflore and Grenada counties who are pursuing higher education. Recipients receive financial assistance toward their first-year college expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:

• Graduate (or be graduating this academic year) from an accredited Leflore or Grenada County public high school.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale).
• Demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding community service through extracurricular activities, volunteerism, and/or work experience.
• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year college/university for the upcoming fall semester.
• Complete a written application and participate in a personal interview (if requested).

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on their academic achievements, leadership, involvement in school and community activities, work experience, educational goals, and personal statements.
